PETALING JAYA: Sabah continues to record the highest positive Covid-19 cases, contributing 77.7% of the total cases on Friday (Oct 16), says Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The Health director-general said Sabah recorded 489 cases, followed by Selangor , Penang , Labuan , Perak , Kuala Lumpur , Kedah , Johor , Melaka , Putrajaya and one each in Negri Sembilan and Pahang.

“Of the total 629 new cases today, two were imported cases from New Zealand and Singapore. Both cases are recorded in Kuala Lumpur. “The rest are all local transmissions, involving 577 Malaysians and 50 foreigners, ” he said, adding that 16 of them are returnees from Sabah.Four men, aged, 39,66,67 and 72, as well as a 74-year-old woman from Sabah, succumbed to the disease.
