Doctors, nurses and medical support services continue to struggle while authorities scramble to set up “extension” wards outside hospitals.
State Health Department director Datuk Dr Christina Rundi, in a letter to Malaysian Medical Association, requested 60 powered air-purifying respirator, six negative pressure isolation chamber and 22 high flow nasal cannula machines., she said the equipment was needed at six designated hospitals – Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Women and Children Hospital Likas, Duchess of Kent in Sandakan along with hospitals in Tawau, Lahad Datu and Keningau.
