ABOUT 1.2 million children who are less than five years will be immunised against all vaccine-preventable diseases in Benue State.

The Executive Secretary, Benue State Primary Healthcare Board, Dr Bem Ageda, disclosed this to journalists in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.

According to Ageda, the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency has introduced Modified Integrated Medical Outreach as a new strategy to improve immunization coverage in the state. He said the exercise would last for five days and would have other activities, including medical outreach, to tackle mother’s health challenges.Also speaking, the acting State Coordinator, National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Babatunde Abdullarazak, said 2,801 local government health workers were expected to carry out the immunisation in 2,506 fixed posts, 510 temporary fixed posts and 30 mobile posts.All rights reserved.
