183 schools underwent 'some form of mass testing' for Covid-19 up to 28 September, with 18 schools and nine childcare facilities identified with 'more than one linked case', Dr Ronan Glynn has said | Read more:

The Chief Medical Officer has said that he is "deeply concerned" at the spread of Covid-19 since NPHET last met last Sunday.

Speaking at his first briefing since returning from a period of leave, Dr Tony Holohan said there has been "further deterioration" in "key indicators that were considered by NPHET on Sunday".He also said that NPHET's findings and recommendations on Sunday required "early, serious and confidential discussion", adding that that "didn't happen".

50% of the new cases are associated with outbreaks or are close contacts of a confirmed case. NPHET says that 83 cases have been identified as community transmission. "The number of people in hospital has increased from 122 last Thursday to 156 this afternoon. There are currently 25 people in critical care compared to 20 one week ago."

Holohan should be prosecuted for the cervical and now nursing home deaths that he is covering up.

Expressing concern about the levels is NOT the same as directly saying to Stephen Donnelly that NPHET wanted to move to level 5. I am no fan of SD but trying to use him to deflect shows Tony up to be the sneak he really is. He got a bloody nose and he deserved it, move on

a sobering thought:

NPHET has been concerned regarding same for some time now. This character has thrown Stephen Donnelly under the bus. His way of getting back at the Government for not taking 'his' advice of level 5 BringbackRonanGlynn

MichealLehane House parties these people don't give a fuck but yeah force the coffee shop or hotel in small towns where literally nobody has covid to close down 😡😡

One suspects the other 39 members of NPHET, who had not just returned to work that morning, were similarly surprised by the CMO’s level of concern. He was very concerned on Sunday and he is even more concerned today, 3 days later. We can’t change level every 3 days, Tony.

DonnellyStephen MichealMartinTD & fiannafailparty along with LeoVaradkar will be fully accountable for the deaths of many many thousands of Irish people. 'Ah lads, sure they're old anyways. Money, money, money' What a sad legacy to leave in their short irrelevant lives.

No surprise Minister Stephen Donnelly did not communicate adequately with government on Sunday since taking over as minister for Heath is leadership has been completely inadequate in a time we need a leader to protect the health of the nation!!

Throwing Stephen Donnelly under the bus after clambering out himself!

Leo didn't like anyone stealing his thunder, hence the lightning strike ... He was well chagrined was our Leo.

There’s your leak 💦💦💦

Basically our health system is a shambles has been for years people waiting on trollies for years let’s be honest that’s all their worried about I actually doubt the figures we are being fed lockdown doesn’t work it’s no good for anybody

CMO grabbing the limelight? It was a ridiculous decision, badly made, badly communicated. We’ve 5 levels and no criteria for moving from one to another. Provide the criteria. Even at the launch Dublin was a mix of levels!

He is such a spoofer!

Canute knew that he could not control the tide so he took his CMO to the beach to prove it.

Dr Holohan shouldn’t have made any announcement at 9 o clock on Sunday night .. was that not the Government’s job surely?

Dont you worry CMOIreland we all know DonnellyStephen is useless and a 🐒. He, with MichealMartinTD LeoVaradkar EamonRyan will have a lot to answer soon...

Perhaps Stephen Donnelly didn't watch the conversation he had CMO.

Just treat early with Hydroxychloroquine and zinc

The Plot Thickens .....🤔

From idiot to the next! Open the country

Judging by the amount of signers we see on television these days, I'd say there's been a big spike in the number of deaf people in Ireland. I've only ever known one.

Govts main objective was to get schools open at ANY cost! Closing them will be seen as a failure for the govt so we won’t see the true figures any time soon. Schools have to be a big influencer in the drive of transmission. Numbers are being talked down.

I’m not sure from watching this who’s job it was to do the sign language?
