LIVE Covid-19 Ireland cases today update as spike feared and Dr Tony Holohan breaks silence

Another Irish nursing home has announced 30 new cases of Covid-19.Residents are now self-isolating in their rooms, in line with public health advice.The home is still operational, but has introduced a ban on visitors.a Laois nursing home confirmed 31 positive tests on Tuesday.

“In line with Public Health protocols and guidelines, residents who have tested positive for the virus are isolating in their rooms. Our Director of Nursing is leading the care team at the nursing home and is working closely with Public Health and our Medical Director to ensure all appropriate measures are put in place to contain the virus.

“Brindley Manor Nursing Home remains fully operational but is closed to non-essential visitors in line with Level 3 government restrictions.”Covid-19 checkpoints caused huge traffic chaos in the capital this morning with 8km tailbacks and little or no movement in snake-like queues for hours. He added: “I think it’s really unfortunate that we find ourselves in a situation now with long tailbacks and children being late for school, people being late for work, late for appointments.
