Stephen Donnelly insists 'virus is responsible' and not Government if deaths and cases continue to rise

Stephen Donnelly has insisted the "virus is responsible" for more deaths and cases if the Government's gamble on moving to Level 3 doesn't pay off.

Many have felt uneasy at the move, with fears growing over how the decision will affect the relationship between Government and NPHET, which is chaired by Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan. However, NPHET advise only from a health perspective, while the Government has to take other measures, such as the economy, into account. And now the Minister for Health has claimed that the Government shouldn't be to blame if the virus claims more lives - despite the decision to turn-down the NPHET proposal.

"We are dealing with a highly infectious, vicious virus, which we have seen spread rapidly in parts of this country. We are in this together, NPHET is providing the best advice it can, Government is making the best decisions we can.

Could you give a more dense answer?

JFTAXI Having blamed everyone and everything else, now it is the virus. Is Stephen mentally slow?

If Trump said that...

What a weird thing to say.......

That's like shooting someone and in court your defence being, 'ah but sure yeah I aimed for him, and I pressed the trigger, but it was the bullet that killed him not me'.
