MANILA - The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the Philippines has surged to 322,497 after the Department of Health reported 3,190 new daily cases on Sunday , the highest in almost two weeks.

The Department of Health said the number of recoveries also surged to 273,079 after 18,065 more patients recovered. Meanwhile, 100 more patients died from the viral disease, bringing the death toll to 5,776. The Department of Health said more than 3.6 million people in the Philippines have been tested so far. The Philippines has a population of about 109 million.
