The Health Minister said he hopes no more counties are moved to Level 3 following a meeting of the National Public Health Emergency Team today.
In an interview published today on The Currency website, the Enterprise Minister said: "What I see other countries doing - Belgium is the most recent example - is that they are no longer using case numbers to make their decisions on restrictions and policy. NPHET's meeting today to decide if recommendations for further restrictions are required comes amid concerns about the high incidence of the virus in some counties.
However, yesterday evening, Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn warned that Covid-19 is now rising everywhere with all counties going in the wrong direction.Dr Glynn said he would not speculate on whether further recommendations will be required - today, shortly or not at all - as he again appealed to all sectors in all parts of the country to follow the public health measures.
There are 122 confirmed cases in hospital, compared with 130 last evening. Of these, 22 are in intensive care units.
Some to 3, some to 4? but still not controlled...? Wont work like this...
NPHET need to cop on to them selves restrictions are not needed as they lack common sense lack logical thinking and are pointless as they will do more harm than good
Its out of control.. Bring on the restrictions please. I want my life back
Everytime someone coughs everyone is on edge due to the fear put out by health ministers and govt. This is flu season. The fact is that the ppl are being lied to, and we know how complicit the media is. The truth is coming out very soon. ItsNotAboutTheVirus ItsAllAboutControl
🤦♀️ Uhhh Crickey... I wish the students would stop acting like twits in Galway & wear a darn mask 😷 Before we're pushed back to level 3... Again!!
