Ireland's chief medical officer Dr Tony Holohan will return to work next week and is expected to resume his duties from Monday

IRELAND’S CHIEF MEDICAL Officer Dr Tony Holohan will return to work next week and is expected to resume his duties from Monday, sources say.

Dr Holohan had stepped away from his role at the beginning of July to spend time with his family and help provide care for his wife, who was diagnosed with a form of blood cancer in 2012.As the country was hit with its first wave of Covid-19, the chief medical officer became a well-known figure helping to lead Ireland’s response as he fronted the daily briefings held at the Department of Health.

Along with the National Public Health Emergency Team , Dr Holohan made a number of recommendations to government over the first few months of the pandemic including the strict lockdown measures that were introduced in late March. The reins were handed to acting chief medical officer Dr Ronan Glynn in early July but Dr Holohan is expected to resume his post from Monday.

It’s also quite ironic that it’s the don’t hurt my feelings everything is offensive generation that are absolutely taking the piss regarding the public health advice, spoilt little 💩 generation, and for all the clowns in Dublin travelling outta Dublin to go on the piss,u 🤡 🤡

Hopefully he can fix the majority of the 18 to 28 year old bracket that don’t give one clear 💩, and hopefully he can have a word with the parents of the teenagers I drove past in Celbridge 4 weeks ago, an absolute minimum of 20 or so heading drinkin in a field or houses . Scum.

You have been missed and while we totally understand why you have been absent we welcome you back and wish you and your family love and best wishes Maureen

Can’t stand Ronan

Great to see a truly committed professional back at work. Ignore the racists and science deniers.

Fantastic news on a personal note for Tony Holohan as I hope this means his wifes condition has improved but if people are naive enough to think that his return will solve all our Covid19 problems just Remember that Holohan was CMO when the original plan was accelerated in June.

And do a runner again, when the truth about this scamdemic starts coming out😉

Thank God💗

Just in time. I Wish him well it in these very difficult times for him and his family.
