PUTRAJAYA: The health ministry recorded 260 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections to 11,484.This was the highest spike in cases ever since the recovery movement control order came into effect in June.
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 47 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 10,014.
This is due to a blatant lack of leadership because of the political ambitions of a few. There should be a Royal Commission of Inquiry and heads must roll over the decisions taken to hold the polls, campaign and allow those who came back to move around freely without quarantine.
Health ministry blundered in not imposing targeted lockdowns and quarantine earlier in Sabah.
