Public health officials in the two provinces were also taking different approaches to the timeline for reopening the schools

All the provinces have different return-to-class and shut-down protocols, and have set different paces for reopening, and they are getting hit by school infections at different times.within a school. Edmonton’s Waverley School will remain open while 12 students and seven staff are in isolation.Alberta’s Medical Health Officer, Deena Hinshaw, said protocols at Waverley School have not been changed as a result of the cases, and there is no reason to believe anyone else in the school is at risk.

How about you report on the schools that are doing a great job? Maybe shed some light on how intelligence, communication, and cooperation make things work smoothly? OH...right...YOU have to feed the teacher's UNIONS mandate at all cost! Weird.

This is such a misleading headline. It’s only two schools with outbreaks (that too in small towns) have shut down for now. PATHETIC DISPLAY FROM MEDIA CHANNELS. Globe and mail was and is the worst at news.

“the public health decisions to close them are a science that is not always exact.” Public health decisions are not a science. Scientific evidence may or may not inform public health decisions perreaux

Not quite understanding all this because my kids have been back to school before Labour Day weekend...and nothing. Teachers aren't calling ' stress leave', get email updates, everyone being responsible and respectfully conscious of alternative measures.

Unreal. Time to scrap this public school BS. Give the taxpayers their money back. Fire the teachers, disband the unions, sell the buildings. You had your chance and you blew it. My God the government sucks.
