In unveiling his manifesto, the Barisan Nasional candidate for the state seat said the three main areas he would be working on would be socio-economic development, tourism and healthcare.
Currently, patients from other nearby districts also sought treatment at the existing hospital and health clinic, he said adding that Sandakan had long waited for the establishment of a private hospital.“I will focus on upgrading and repairing healthcare facilities here. Then, I will try my best to realise Barisan's vision, which is to have a private hospital in Sandakan, ” said Chan, the Sandakan Health Clinic Advisory Panel chairman.
“Sandakan is famous for its seafood, and I will promote it as a seafood destination to woo more tourists. At the same time, I urge the government to allocate funds for micro-loans to businesses here, ” he added.“If given the mandate by the people, I will work hard to ensure the welfare of Elopura constituents, ” Chan said.
