Campaigner Vicky Phelan says her terminal cancer diagnosis has helped her overcome her struggle with depression.
“I got the worst news you can possibly get and all I want now is time. So I don’t care what I look like anymore.“I’m alive, my kids don’t care what weight I am, I’m here with them and I’m well enough to do things with them and that is all that matters.“I would choose cancer over depression any day because I’m able to wake up. When you have depression, waking up, everything is black.
And she admits she would have a few choice words for God at the pearly gates of heaven if she believed he existed.
