Former Labor minister Stephen Conroy has blasted Victorian Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton as “star-struck” and a “clown” for describing Victoria’s coronavirus modelling as guesswork.

Former Labor minister Stephen Conroy has blasted Victorian Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton as “star-struck” and a “clown” for describing Victoria’s coronavirus modelling as guess work. Mr Conroy – who served in the Rudd and Gillard ministries – told Sky News host Peta Credlin that Professor Sutton needed to “get on and do your job” out of the media spotlight.

“He needs to stop doing media appearances and start reading files on his desk and he really does deserve to have an absolute caning behind the scenes for his loose talk,” he said. “ If I had been in the room when my chief medical officer had stood up and said ‘oh no we didn’t really do the modelling out six weeks, it was a bit of guess work’, I mean this bloke needs more than a media advisor to help him at the moment, he is star-struck, loving the media spotlight.

sophieelsworth Sky news hahahahahaha peta credlin hahahaha Andrew bolt hahahahaha..... Alan Jones hahahahaha ...... the list goes on and on

SimonJaysek But it is

Brett is going great! Don’t be mean to him.

Alternatively the ‘red underpants’ owner should keep his butt out of the limelight.

See what happens when you let men rock beards professionally? They start talking like they’re on Twitter

A moron as well.

Stephen Conroy is an engineer, he is list (a) Systematic, rigorous, disciplined, cause and effect VictorianCHO is list (b) 'It's all about me'

DH

The CHO is a clown! HCQ works! Allow doctors to do their jobs! More and more studies are proving this. End the madness! VictorianCHO resign now or make changes! Changes for the good of Victoria!

The CMO is a scientist that is telling the truth. Most modelling is guesswork until you calibrate the models with actual data. You only have to look at the early COVID model predicting hundreds of thousands cases and thousands deaths in Australia.

i'm that i'm not the only one, but i'm going to now vote labor again for the very first time again in over 20yrs, just to stick it up all these spiteful and very horrible liberals that never stop with the bull-dust and are turning a world health crisis into the political gutter

Wonder what colour underpants he has? red

Correct. Modelling is educated guesswork. Bad boy.

Um, I think Mr Conroy needs to go back to school and learn what modelling actually is...

Conroy trying to protect Andrew arse.

Yeah 6 week modelling a bit of guess work ! DanielAndrewsMP VictorianLabor VictoriaPolice cornelius_luke you are kicking the fuck out of us over guesswork !

I disagree. I think it’s great they have a straight talker up there, not just politicians and spin doctors

PrettyBretty VictorianCHO is incompetent & useless person. He is Pussy Cat dictator's DanielAndrewsMP partner in crime. Foolish supporters of DanAnd find Bretty as Pretty but he looks filthy & rubbish. 700 deaths & destruction of Victorian economy is cleary written on his face

Star struck by Dan Andrews? 😂 hardly, he’s just telling the truth & doesn’t need a $200k per year assistant to help him spin the truth.

Conroy is a 🐓head.

Maybe he should loan him his red underpants to put on his head to stop looking like a 🤡

ThisisNotJournalism

What a joke. Given the debacle around contact tracing, not one question relating to their poor performance. Today has been the worst example of sycophancy. The Dan fan club in full flight.

I think Conroy made be the clown! All modelling is based on some level of guesswork.

Perhaps CMO was just telling the truth

LOL, what will the Labor lovies do? Conflicted loyalties in their programing...

Stephen Conroy is as bad as Dopey Dan if he thinks lies and deception is the best policy when dealing with the Victorian people. Must be a Labor trait to be a tyrant and treat the Victorian people like fools. Good on Brett for telling the truth.

Where was Conroy when was lambasting the ALP over Somulek's branch-stacking?

The most incompetent minister in the Rudd-Gillard governments, whose sheer idiocy led to the bungled NBN we now have.

Looks like the ALP has found it's scapegoat.

BradRowswell I’m amazed how ignorant people are about modelling, statistics, numerical fluctuations. All modelling is based on some crafted guesses. As Andrews said, data trumps modelling. In fact Sutton is a very good communicator and deals with with extraordinarily stupid questions well.

It’s like the last 6 months haven’t happened. As if the Imperial report came out yesterday and they haven’t looked at any other international strategies. Do they even know that Sweden is a country? Do they know all the evidence showing the harm lockdowns have done worldwide?

Well it is guesswork

Maybe he should go too

Pot Kettle Black. Conroy would know all about clowns.

Glad to hear somebody finally calling Sutton a clown.

😍😍😍😍😍😍

Modelling = guesswork. Informed guesswork, one would hope, but, as with Imperial College modelling, one impetus that launched us into this debacle, it was BS. Then, after panicking many politicians & bureaucrats into behaving like terrified toddlers, it snowballed from there.

That’s calling the kettle a dark colour from Conroy

GreyHaired07 Sutton has no idea. Yes he did his 4 year residency and went back too school. 500 Victorian Doctors in all fields with 20-30 years experience have said he has no clue. DanielAndrewsMP doesn’t even acknowledge their letter on mental illness increases in Victoria.

sophieelsworth Andrews out. Democracy in. Andrews out. Liberty in. Andrews out. Efficacy in. Andrews out. Business in. Andrews out. Livelihoods in. Andrews out. Education in.

Might be the first truth he’s told !

Is this guy relevant? I think not...

I live in Victoria but talk to people globally on a regular basis. Everyone of them says 'there is no way people will stay locked down that long' I tell them about people getting arrested for Facebook posts arranging portests. Nobody can believe it. They think I am making it up

So he gets slammed same day he reveals 2 major gov fails in dealing with virus. It's nice to have some honesty for a change.

Brett Sutton has an illusion of knowledge VictorianCHO

fried_hayek 🤔 on the company account, and on the clock. Working hard or hardly working?

'Former' means that no one gives a shit about your opinion anymore.

Victoria can’t take anymore Lies from these incompetent Clowns! 🆘 melbournelockdown

Fuck me. No fucking idea, none of them have any idea on what they're doing. We're just toys in the cot for them. No plan, nothing moving forward, just playing with us. Fuck the lot of them.

Federal government energy roadmap based on guesswork and thought bubbles

Good on you Conroy. sackSutton

As an outsider i will be honest, Australia looks just like a police state right now. Are you lot proud. I can back my observations up with video evidence if you like.
