'Nothing clear cut' as NSW Health investigates source of hospitals cluster | rachelclun

Infectious disease experts are investigating whether the COVID-19 cluster linked to two Sydney hospital emergency departments could have been spread through contact with infected computer screens, pens or paper.

Non-urgent surgeries at Concord have been cancelled until Friday as a result of the outbreak. Health workers from other parts of both hospitals have been redeployed to emergency to cover shortages, and staff from other hospitals within those health districts were on standby to assist if needed, a NSW Health spokeswoman said.

"They would like to apologise for any inconvenience or distress this may have caused. We remind you that, if you have been tested for COVID-19 and are currently awaiting a test result, please remain in isolation until you receive a negative result."Four new cases were reported in NSW in the 24 hours to 8pm on Sunday, including one returned overseas traveller.
