A spokesperson for the White House coronavirus task force did not provide a response to requests for comment. “We’re going to be very careful to make sure that when we tell you you’re likely immune from the disease ... the test really said that,” said Admiral Brett Giroir, the administration’s “testing czar.”
“We are aware of the CDC’s guidance,” Quest spokeswoman Kimberly Gorode said in a statement. “That is why we recommend that employers use antibody testing as part of a holistic approach to bringing their employees back to the office.”
There is a COVID19 immunity test that identifies & quantifies neutralizing antibodies -- the subset of antibodies that can stop SARS-CoV-2 infection. Mayo Clinic has licensed it. Serial testing can provide immunity level (Ab titer) + track durability.

That is because the tests aren't specific enough for what antibodies they are testing for. Basically, they can find antibodies but they don't know exactly what those antibodies are for.
