A workers’ union at the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. has vowed to help their new president Dante Gierran in cleaning up the agency.Fe Francisco, president of PhilHealth Workers for Hope, Integrity, Transparency, and Empowerment , said they will assist Gierran in his duties, as the latter would probably come in without an executive committee since the Senate recommended to file charges against the agency’s senior officials over alleged irregularities and corruption.
“He will be coming in PhilHealth with no execom. He needs all the help that he can get. Tutulong po kami. Makikipagtulungan kami sa aming bagong presidente ,” Francisco told DZMM Teledradyo on Tuesday.“We’ll help him out sa paglilinis ng ahensya ,” she said. Francisco also praised Gierran for his “honesty and humility,” in admitting that he is scared to take on the job and that he has a lack of knowledge in public health.Francisco advised Gierran to have discernment. “He has to work with everybody. Maraming makipag usap sa kanya diyan and baka malito na siya. He should have a good stance, a firm stance. May discernment kung ano yung tama o mali ,” she said.
