A top group advising U.S. health officials predicted Tuesday that four late-stage coronavirus vaccine trials backed by the United States could fail to work.

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine released a draft report that lays out a plan for distributing a coronavirus vaccine if one is approved. It said the Trump administration's Operation Warp Speed expects to support up to seven phase three trials and it assumes four of them will fail.

According to a study published in the scientific journal Biostatistics, vaccines for infectious diseases have a 33.4% success rate of making it through clinical trials and to regulatory approval. Rabbi Shmuel Herzfeld has his arm disinfected by Dr. Chao Wang during a clinical trial for a Coronavirus vaccine at Meridian Clinical Research in Rockville, Maryland on Monday, July 27, 2020. The group said it expects all volunteers participating in U.S. vaccine trials to get an approved vaccination early on regardless of its phased guidelines, as "doing so is a typical standard of vaccine trial protocol." It said the Trump administration's Operation Warp Speed expects to support up to seven 30,000-person phase three trials and it assumes four of them will fail.

"Four of the trials will fail, and all subjects in those trials are offered access to an approved vaccine," the group wrote in the draft report. "Three of the trials will succeed, and, under a 1:1 ratio between members of treatment groups compared to the placebo group, 15,000 participants from each of those trials who were assigned to the placebo condition are offered and approved vaccine."vaccines for infectious diseases have a 33.

4/7 will likely fail. 3/7 will likely succeed.

Remember Aids and the other challenges: they took time to find some solutions. Please don’t mix science, Wall Street, Market makers and politics. Someone could get hurt.

Always so negative, do you have proof? Try to find so positive instead of feeding the negative

More than 150 coronavirus vaccines are in development across the world. Look it up CNBC.

why fail

'the media is not you friend'

I'm shocked! Not

You can't rush it...but, we could buy them time if we had our collective nonsense together ...

Would be very funny if have to buy from China

Predicting something *could* fail? Is that really a prediction or describing how vaccine trials always work?

4 of 7 expected to fail meaning 3 will be successful.

If there is the lawsuit on adverse drug reactions, will the patient sue China for being a factor? How will the UN deal with a non-governance of law?

But what if they don't the only answer to that question is if the American people try it and see if the vaccine works to preventing them from getting the virus.

It'll fail unnoticeably and Incomprehensibly as Covid19 viruses mutated!

Don’t rush this.
