Thousands of diabetics to be given soup-and-shake diet plan on NHS

The most common form of diabetes, type 2 is caused by problems with how the insulin hormone regulates glucose in the body. The condition can increase the risk of serious problems with the eyes, heart and nerves, and is often linked to being overweight.

Please remember that following a very low calorie diet such as the one proposed by the NHS MUST only be done when followed by a dietitian and qualified health professionals. This does NOT mean 800 kcal is enough for the general public ‼️

Who writes this shit. Firstly it’ll be type 2 and it won’t be a ‘diet’. It’s a low calorie intake plan in an attempt to reverse the onset.

Can’t you amend the headline? ‘Type2 diabetics!’ Soup and shake diets wouldn’t help a type1 diabetic!

Come on you should know well enough by now that there are several types of diabetes. This will not help people with Type 1 diabetes. If only a soup and shake diet could reverse my autoimmune disease.

That is good old fashioned advice. It beats drugs! And down the line even more drugs!

This diet is available in America. Give the evidence of regaining the weight within 3-5 years to people before raising their hopes, again? Hint, it's about the same as all the other specialized food diets. The nutritional educational does give it an advantage over other diets.
