KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 56 people, who returned from abroad since July 24, were sent to hospital for treatment for Covid-19.

said they were among 20,190 people who returned to Malaysia from July 24 to Aug 29.

"Majority of the 20,190 were placed at 74 hotels and four public training institutes for mandatory quarantine. "So far, 8,854 people are undergoing compulsory quarantine while 11,280 have been discharged and allowed to go home," he said in a statement on Sunday ."All of them adhered to the standard operating procedures set by the Health Ministry.Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said the supply of essential items was sufficient following checks by the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry on Saturday.
