11 new Covid-19 cases, only 1 local infection

PETALING JAYA: Eleven new Covid-19 cases were reported by the health ministry today, bringing the total number of cases to 9,317. All but one were imported.

In a statement, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said eight patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 9,038. This leaves the number of active cases at 154. Eight are in the intensive care unit, with six requiring respiratory assistance.Noor Hisham said there was only one local infection today, with 10 imported cases involving six Malaysians and four foreigners.The local infection involved a Malaysian who was detected in pre-operation screening at Sarawak General Hospital.
