New coronavirus cases in Victoria have dipped below 100 for the first time in almost two months.

Victoria recorded 94 new coronavirus cases overnight, bringing some relief to state health authorities. The state also recorded another 18 virus deaths, bringing Australia’s death toll to 602 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews yesterday said the state would remain in lockdown when Stage 4 restrictions were scheduled to end on September 13. While he refused to divulge details of Victoria’s road out of lockdown, he flagged the state would first move to Stage 3 restrictions.
