Mask wearing has been made mandatory for anyone in a hospital across Greater Brisbane and Ipswich as Queensland health authorities work to curb the spread of a coronavirus cluster.

Visitors, staff and patients were all required to don a mask inside a hospital as a cluster sourced to the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre was linked to 10 active cases, with 17 active cases recorded across the state. The Chief Health Officer advised state residents to wear a mask in areas where maintaining a 1.

5 metre distance was difficult, saying it would not necessarily prevent someone from transmitting the virus but it would reduce the risk. More venues across Greater Brisbane have been added to the list of locations visited by coronavirus patients during their infectious period, including Calamvale Shopping Centre, Officeworks at Ipswich and a Coles at Forest Lake.
