Ireland's top immunologist urges public to unite in one big push to get children back to school

The country’s top immunologist last night urged the people of Ireland to unite in one big push to get our children back to school.

As the incidence of Covid-19 increases across the country daily the Trinity College don insisted the Government and NPHET had no choice but to bring in more restrictions if we want to reopen our schools.“Let’s be honest, it will be catastrophic for the whole country and for the children themselves if they don’t get back to school.

“Re-opening schools is the number one priority of the Government. It will also allow many parents to return to work.” But he explained: “In a nutshell, the public health advisors and the Government want each and everyone of us to stay away from crowds.“They also want to stop house parties because it is spreads at parties.“But there is a very simple reason for this - it is the summer, people are on the move, taking staycations and travelling all over the country, and they are also holding parties at home.”“Community transmission is very difficult to trace. One person could infect 50.
