DFA urges Pinoys: Cooperate with host countries as 2 more virus cases recorded

The Department of Foreign Affairs called all Filipinos abroad Friday to “cooperate and work” with their host countries and local health authorities for their safety and protection and that of their families and communities as it recorded two more confirmed cases of COVID-19 among Filipinos abroad, bringing the total count to 9,975 cases.

“Echoing President Duterte’s message today in commemoration of Ninoy Aquino Day, the Department of Foreign Affairs, together with its Foreign Service Posts, calls on Filipino nationals across the globe to cooperate and work with host governments and local health authorities in order to keep themselves, their families, and communities safe.

The DFA bared that only two countries in the Americas and Asia and the Pacific have confirmed new COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad Friday.The number of recoveries and deaths remained at 5, 869, and 733, respectively, according to the data from the DFA.According to the DFA, the number of Department of Health verified cases is now at 1,907, with eight new cases from Europe and Asia and the Pacific.

The total case count in Americas is now 792 cases, 160 of which are recoveries, 178 are fatalities, and 160 are undergoing treatment.There were reported 6,927 cases in the Middle East or Africa, based on the data from the DFA. The region has recorded 4,125 recoveries and 452 deaths. Europe has a total of 1, 156 cases with 95 deaths and 560 recoveries. The number of patients who are undergoing treatment remained at 501.
