The Ruby Princess inquiry slammed NSW Health's 'do nothing' decision to allow passengers to disembark without waiting six hours for the results of coronavirus tests.

The swabs should have been tested

When the Ruby Princess set sail from Sydney on March 8, there were 25 swabs on board and when it docked on March 19, 13 coronavirus swabs had been taken. The report said the swabs, which were taken off the ship at 3:00am, should have been immediately tested. The disembarkation of the vessel was at the centre of a stoush between the NSW Government and the Australian Border Force , who blamed each other for the misstep.

Ruby Princess had a cruise cycle every 14 days. What happened before 19th March? This happened during the same time as the ill fated Diamond Princess stranded in Japan. What did the Australian government do? Why wasn't there anyone in the government responsible?

A good principle to follow - beware of critising the actions of others unless you have stood in their shoes. Too easy to point the finger with the benefit of hindsight.

Ah, Mr Morrison and Mr Dutton you can hide, and you can even go to HAWAII, but sooner or later you’ll have to face the music: just not Hillsong.

Slam the fuckers harder.

We have had and endless stream of play carriers coming into the country since before anybody had ever heard of coronavirus. We continue to receive play parcels originating from play countryNation wide the ruby Princess is a distraction had a negligible impact

Give it a break.. on the ruby we are more interested in the hotel bungle in Victoria which caused.. house arrests of millions & 5 times the amount of dearhs anywhere else in Australia

One of the most incompetent teams in Australia... NSW health an absolute WASTE OF SPACE....

Poignant image used in this article, if this in fact the Ruby Princess.

Or Why didn't NSW health & Border force do their jobs?

Obviously DanielAndrewsMP fault right?! 🤷🏼‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Giood to view a bit of rump on that journalism, not excess fat.

this is really very sad

NSW Premier acted 'too slowly' initiating Ruby Princess inquiry | Sky News AustraliaNew South Wales Labor leader Jodi McKay has praised Brett Walker SC for his ability to pull together a report on the ill-fated Ruby Princess despite the “rushed” nature of the Special Commission of Inquiry into the Ruby Princess. \n\nThe findings of the inquiry are due to be handed down today to the NSW government following an investigation into why 2,700 passengers were allowed to disembark the cruise ship in Sydney on March 19 without undergoing coronavirus testing. \n\nMs McKay told Sky News Premier Gladys Berejiklian acted too slowly in launching an investigation into the debacle as she launched a police investigation first. \n\n“That wasn’t going to get to the heart of protocols being breached,” she said. \n\nShe said Labor supported the push for an inquiry as it was “one of the most significant public health episodes that we’ve ever had here in NSW”. \n\n“This is not about necessarily blaming different agencies, it’s about understanding who is responsible and ensuring this never ever happens again,” she said. \n\nImage: News Corp Australia JodiMcKayMP Yes Jodi, at least Brett Walker SC is getting answers and accountability for the Ruby Princess debacle.
