Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah confirmed that the student had only tested positive for dengue fever, not Covid-19.
"The Health Ministry would like to announce that verification for the student's Covid-19 test was repeated twice within 24 hours and was found to be negative. "Proactive steps to screen close contacts of the student were carried out among 54 individuals involving 42 at the secondary school, four family members, five relatives and three healthcare workers.
"All Covid-19 tests for these 54 individuals were negative," he said in a press conference on Thursday . On Wednesday , Dr Noor Hisham verified that the student had tested positive for dengue fever but that verification of Covid-19 test results was still being carried out.
