TV news reporter Victoria Price was diagnosed with cancer after a viewer told her to get a lump on her neck checked
The woman, who has not been named, emailed Victoria in June saying: ‘Hi, just saw your news report. What concerned me is the lump on your neck. Please have your thyroid checked. Reminds me of my neck. Mine turned out to be cancer. Take care of yourself.’Victoria heeded the woman’s advice, and went to see her doctor, who confirmed that the viewer’s hunch was right. She has thyroid cancer which is spreading slowly across her neck.
Victoria has now credited the woman for potentially saving her life, and said that the hectic nature of covering the coronavirus pandemic made her far less likely to notice the growth herself., she wrote: ‘Turns out, I have cancer. And I owe it to one of our wonderful @WFLA viewers for bringing it to my attention…
Victoria added: ‘ saw a lump on my neck. Said it reminded her of her own. Hers was cancer. Turns out, mine is too…
