Melburnians have been getting used to seeing Australian Defence Force personnel in uniform patrolling the streets, after the state called in 1,400 reinforcements to get on top of the spike in new coronavirus cases.Premier Daniel Andrews said: "That's not something to be afraid of, that's just everyone working together as one team to make sure that we've got the best public health response to this global pandemic.
"If contact cannot be made with them via those two telephone calls in a two-hour period then ADF and authorised officers will be deployed to go and doorknock those people and to conduct that interview on their doorstep."Why are people not answering their phones? "If you are positive then obviously you have got to be at home for those 14 days and you've got to be part of our process of contact tracing," he said.
Surely this will be a disincentive to get tested? And why the army, what are they going to do that police can't do?
...and with no legal authority whatsoever. Should one chose to not answer the door, so be it!

If you have to say it's nothing to worry about then it obviously is.
Daniel Andrews should start a social scoring system where offenders are given poor numbers for not following law. Such people can then be denied services, schools, loans etc... A 24/7 intrusive mass surveillance should also be implemented to support such efforts. IStandWithDan
And so they should get a visit. How hard is it to stay at home for the 2 weeks to protect yourselves and all those around you. DeptDefence is doing a great job.
