The North Gauteng High Court on Friday ordered the Department of Basic Education to resume the National School Nutrition Programme to all eligible pupils with immediate effect regardless of whether they have returned to school.

The North Gauteng High Court on Friday ordered the Department of Basic Education to resume the National School Nutrition Programme to all eligible pupils with immediate effect regardless of whether they have returned to school.

Since then the DBE has failed to honour the promises it made to reinstate the programme and to ensure learners would not go hungry.
