The Special Committee on Covid-19 Response has heard from the Irish Cancer Society and the Irish Medical Organisation.

She said 600 GPs are due to retire and there are no supports – "we have failed miserably to attract people to work in the system" - down to the undervaluing of people. Earlier the Committee heard from Inclusion Ireland that the resumption of some day services for people with intellectual disabilities may not happen until December or January next year.,
Mr Dolan said the funding crisis has been exacerbated by Covid-19. "Organisations have faced huge losses in fundraising and earned income due to the pandemic. Many organisations rely on fundraising income to survive," he said.
