FS Health Department slammed for firing workers

Health workers union Hospersa has slammed the Free State Health Department for terminating contracts of close to a hundred community workers.

BLOEMFONTEIN - Health workers union Hospersa has slammed the Free State Health Department for terminating contracts of close to 100 community workers. The provincial health department says the decision is because the workers have criminal records, but the union says the records are for minor offences related to community unrest and protests.Hospersa's Kevin Halama said the union believes the decision taken by the provincial government is unlawful and unfair.
