Healthcare giant Johnson & Johnson will supply US painkiller brand Tylenol to pharmacies as health regulators move to address any future medical shortages.

Global pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson has been given approval to sell its US painkiller brand Tylenol in Australian pharmacies after a surge in demand for paracetamol during the coronavirus caused supply concerns.

Concerns about the supply of painkillers and other over-the-counter medication have largely subsided but the department of health is continuing to work with wholesales and global healthcare brands to prevent future shortages. The Pharmacy Guild of Australia said there were no longer concerns about shortages of medicines due to the pandemic. "Many shortages associated with early COVID-19 panic-buying have been resolved and all shortages are reported on the TGA medicines shortages website," a spokesperson said.

Top US doctor says COVID-19 vaccine could be ready by end of yearThe US government&x27;s top infectious disease expert told a House committee he believes &x27;it will be when and not if&x27; there will be a COVID-19 vaccine. Just in time! Straight after the US elections Fauci has also just indirectly announced when he'll be retiring/sacked by stating this. That’s about what I expected. Next challenges will be 1.Getting the growing anti-vaccine culture in the US to support & take the vaccine when healthy 2.Sensitivity of the vaccine to virus mutation. How long will it last, seasonal injection or lifetime? 3.Where’s Aus with ours?
