Amid a still-strong pandemic and after weeks of protests about racial inequality, President Donald Trump prepared to hold a rally with thousands of supporters in Oklahoma in an effort to reinvigorate his re-election campaign.
Hours before the rally, Trump's campaign announced six members of its advance team had tested positive for COVID-19. Supporters are delighted to see Mr Trump back on the campaign trail, and those wanting to attend far outstripped the number of seats available, Trump campaign officials said. On a corner outside the rally a group of Black people and Trump supporters got into a shouting match."You sound just as stupid as you look," a woman replied.
After intense criticism, Mr Trump postponed the rally by a day so that it did not coincide with the anniversary of the 19 June commemoration of the end of Black slavery in the United States.
