Since first being recorded late last year in China, the Covid-19 coronavirus has spread around the world, and been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. However, differences in testing mean that the number of cases may be understated for some countries.
It would be helpful to also have the per capita numbers - it provides insight and context
No cases in Europe until 31 Jan, according to this. But we now know from sewage samples that there were cases in Italy in mid Dec. There's a lot we don't yet know about this disease. And yes, that includes its impact on excess deaths, not observed in Italy until March
