The first symptoms appeared in Callum O'Dwyer on 23 March, the day the UK went into lockdownA fit and healthy young man, he had no underlying health conditions before he caught the virus.
Doctors have told Callum he has post-viral fatigue, a hangover from coronavirus which is affecting many survivors. He added:"For 10 days I was off my feet with what felt like a really really bad flu. I had never been as sick as that and it was very full-on. Early on, I suspected it was likely to be Covid."
"I had a one litre water bottle and I was struggling to pick that up at arms' length, I was that weak."Callum, from Aberdeen, is still suffering severe fatigue twelve weeks after first showing symptoms He said:"It's so frustrating. I am at 12 weeks and there has been so much false hope. I currently can't live independently and I can't work and that's a very difficult circumstance.
She too was looked after in intensive care in London. But like Callum O'Dwyer, she is still struggling daily.
It's not post... Virus is still active... Check my profile for some hints. Clinical trials are ongoing.
This!
Try having chronic fatigue syndrome for over twenty years
Thanks for covering this. The 3.2k people in our covid1in20 Facebook group feel ill, frightened & invisible. We’re not in gvt stats as not hospitalised (bar multiple A&E trips). Vital that GPs, the government & employers recognise what we’re experiencing
I have Covid exhaustion and I haven't even had it.
Underlying health issues, i bet this guy has had the flu jab in the last 9 months like 99.9% of people who have died from this mystery 'virus'
It could have triggered Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, sadly.
As someone else said, just imagine feeling like this and having the responsibility for running the country. Well done Prime Minister Johnson.(I await a day of trolls)
Really tough. Have a friend in same situation. Keep fighting. You will come through stronger. Covid_19
He was struggling to wash up and do his laundry so had to move in with his mum! Right, OK then we believe you.
Yea
Should have had the strain Johnson had truthtwisters
It takes time for your body and mind to recover from any illness. Think back to the days of convalescent homes, we just expect a quick fix these days. Life is so fast paced now, a body needs time to rest and recover properly.
PhenomenalPoto A 24 year old in our subdivision passed from sudden cardiac arrest last weekend while mowing the lawn. He had no known health issues and was a standout soccer player in HS. Sometimes bad health events happen - even to young people.
Do the govt have any way of measuring who has long term effects considering most people weren’t tested during the peak? GPs don’t get test results so they can’t provide this info either. There needs to be some joined-up thinking to measure and monitr long term health issues
More BBC scaremongering. This SCAM is over.
'Free from the virus, he moved into his parents' house a few miles away.' Well obviously he's not free from the virus is he...
🙄 strengthen your immune system and change your diet.
‘Survivors‘ oh come on!
What's the point of the story BBC? You don't care. If you did, you would have given our PM at least a bit of support - after all, he came back and is running the nation whilst recovering from the illness. Media are scum is becoming true everyday.
It's time to start talking about the difficulty of recovery. We spend so much time talking about the death rate, but aren't paying attention to the needs of people who become infected. They will require support in the coming years. Governments, schools and employers aren't ready
Thank God he's with us to tell the tale.
If the legacy etc is caused by blood clotting in lungs etc as research is throwing up then will be for life.
Would explain why Boris looks so shell-shocked all the time. I might now like the bloke, but if he's trying to run the country while exhausted and in pain that must suuuuck
Many get post viral symptoms with the flu and other infections so no different really.
Keep stoking the fear and paranoia BBC, need people to be too scared to go out right?
post viral asthenia is common and takes time to completely recover, hence no need to scare monger people😡😡
A fit and healthy person contracts a virus and gets ill. Never heard of that in my life
Feels like straight cancer in my bones. The pain is literally if bones could feel pain endlessly
14 weeks for me. Tested negative at last this week, but still feel drained.
You going to have people like this, its not fair but a fact of life. Just like a peanut will kil one person but not millions of others. 70% of those who have tested positive display no symptoms at all. A very strange ' virus ' indeed
Many will have fatigue as a result of lockdown depression as well.
I’m tired of the constant moaning about COVID 19.

Imagine if you were trying to run the country? 🤔
They can stick the vaccine where the sun don't shine.
