Most cops I know would love to no longer be called out to deal with mental health, homeless, and other less-serious situations. But, our society has forced them to be the first responders for everything. Now we get to throw them under the bus for not being good social workers.

De-Escalation Officers. Same training as LEOs with additional training to de-escalate. Extra pay w/college degree. Also 🤔 Considering the history of policing in this country I also suggest doing away with the term 'police' officers.
