PUTRAJAYA: There is a new Covid-19 cluster in Gombak involving personnel at the district police headquarters (IPD), says Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

"We have identified this new cluster that involves staff members at the district police headquarters," he said in his daily press briefing on Sunday .He said such cases were one of the factors why the Health Ministry decided to conduct periodic screening on personnel at district police headquarters.

"But what is important is that when we have traced such cases, we immediately identify those who are exposed, and those who are positive are immediately isolated and sent to the hospital for treatment and all their close contacts will also be quarantined. "We know the Covid-19 virus is in the community, so it is about avoiding getting infected so we urge Malaysians to adhere to the standard operating procedures," he said.
