Matt Hancock denied that Britain is a racist nation but admitted that there is ‘more that can be done’

Health Secretary Matt Hancock said the UK is not racist but added that ‘more can always be done’

‘And I think that we’re one of the most tolerant and open societies in the world but there’s always more that can, and must, be done to empower people so they can achieve their potential’.Britons have been protesting to demand justice for not only George Floyd – who was killed after white Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck until he went unconscious – but also against systematic racism in the UK.

Asked if he believes the UK is a racist society, he told the Sky programme: ‘I wouldn’t say it’s the majority, but where it exists it’s very deep and whether that’s physically in some communities, whether that’s online in the way that many of our online platforms just don’t do anywhere near enough to police that effectively.

‘And so we’ve got to make the argument, we’ve got to make further progress, on top of the significant progress that has been made in recent years, but we’ve got to do it in a way that’s safe and controls the virus.’

The UK isn't racist its some of the people who live here that are the racist's.

The word is INTERGRATION

Really Matt! Even Ray Ch..... can see that Britain has a lot of covert racism issues and he was totally blind.

this one of least racist countries in the world, we bend over backwards allowing folk to get away with law braking due to race, whilst racism against whites is ignored and even upheld by some labour mps

What a privileged buffoon. Cosy inside his own little bubble with his elite cronies, all of them are unable to empathise with anyone or anything BlackLivesMatter

I’m sorry, I’ll believe it when the people complaining about racism tell me otherwise.

So detached from reality 🤦‍♀️ idiot

I was bleached whitened as a child when gutted by BARNET

More that can be done to deny racism?

Fool. They all rascist against whites.

Thats big of him.....ffs

The UK is one of the least racist countries in the world. Try pulling this crap in any African or Asian country.

More than racist I would say porophobic as many other countries

UK IS racist. If thousands of people are saying the same thing, then it is true. Just because something does not affect you, it doesn't mean that it does not affect others. This is not the time to turn a blind eye and deaf ear to what is happening right under your nose.

He's not wrong

His mood: Alice in Wonderland 🤷🏼‍♀️

We're probably the most tolerant country in the western world!Like any Middle Eastern or Asian countries governments ,would allow yesterdays nonsense to take place in their capitals! What a load of bollocks .

Islamaphic inquiry? SayeedaWarsi

Seems to be his go to response when he wants to avoid an issue 🤔
