News updates on Covid-19 in the UK as NHS bosses complain they were left ‘completely in the dark’ over the updated rules

Hundreds of protesters have gathered in Parliament Square in Westminster for an anti-racism rally, which began at 1pm. A group of drummers is playing for the crowds, many of whom are carrying placards and dancing in time with the beat. Streams of demonstrators continue to cross Westminster Bridge to join the protest despite the rainy conditions. The majority of the demonstrators are wearing masks and face coverings, with some also opting for gloves.

We need more protests for herd immunity

My gosh rawmaish

It would appear that the BLM fraternity do not care about others lives, that is their community. All the touching and close quarter stuff that is going on. In about 7 to 10 days time, we will begin to see the fruits of their blatent ignoring of social distancing.

icantbreathintwoweeks 😂

Well done for covering this. Am totally in support of BLM and would probably have joined a local march - but lives do matter and this is a pandemic. Protest absolutely but please do it safely folks.

...and hundreds of them will be complaining 'I can't breathe' for an entirely different reason. Stupid idiots. COVID19
