Research on 40,000 black Americans found that police killings of black people were associated with worse mental-health issues in the months following police brutality among those surveyed. The study also suggests that police killings could add 55 million more poor mental health days every year among black Americans.And let's be honest: It's not just witnessing atrocious acts of racism or systemic racism that's stressful.
