Some people falsely think testing positive on an antibody test proves they can't get infected with the virus again. But an infectious disease expert warns: 'We just don't know if that's the case.' Here's what the results will — and won't — tell you:

"This has been one of the worst experiences of his life," says Perez's daughter, Sheila, who translated from Spanish to English for an interview with NPR."He didn't think he was going to make it." But her father is also nervous. His doctor told him the antibodies might give him some protection against catching the virus again, but stressed that's far from guaranteed.

Researchers are urgently trying to answer those uncertainties and figure how best to conduct antibody testing.

Great article for this very early phase of discovering what we do not know about Covid-19.

If the MSM had not gotten involved by spreading fear and hysteria, we as a nation would be much better off. Each county would have handled it according to severity encountered. Reacting like everywhere is NYC was devastating to our economy. Media cares not but for its profits

Not according to South Korean body for disease controls latest study...,

Rubbish Obamagate

Most people correctly think an antibody test likely means they can’t get the virus again. Correct there’s no proof, but it’s highly likely.

It's the same for any illness, bacterial or viral. There are multiple levels of the immune system, antibodies are just one of them. Antibodies are developed after getting the disease to help prevent catching it in the future.

Great - another infectious disease expert who just doesn't know - but is sure we better tank our economy through lockdowns targeting small business owners, just in case...

There is a new test that detects and quantifies neutralizing antibodies that can stop SARS-CoV-2 from infecting new cells. It can determine the strength of a person's immunity to COVID19.

Anything to keep people indoors even if they had the virus. This is a gross story and I would expect better from NPR.

Do they “falsely think” or do they just “think?” Since the experts don’t know, how can one say if they are thinking “falsely.”

1. These tests aren't accurate 2. We don't know shit about this virus
