BREAKING: A historic motion led by the European Union and Australia to establish an independent review of the coronavirus has passed the World Health Assembly.

A historic motion led by the European Union and Australia to establish an independent review of the coronavirus has passed the World Health Assembly.

The reviews will identify the source of the virus and the route of introduction from other animals to the human population and review lessons learned from the WHO-coordinated international health response to COVID-19. China's last-minute decision to co-sponsor the resolution means it passed with full consensus at the meeting of the assembly just before 10pm Tuesday night, AEST.China had opposed Australia’s calls for an independent global inquiry, but has now insisted the motion it co-sponsored is vastly different to Canberra’s position.

Attention WHO coronavirus pandemic WuFlu

You should correct your information. The private investigation will be done as per Europe union conditions and terms. Australia has nothing with the conditions and terms. Stop feeding people fake victories.

Too late all the evidence from where it originally started is gone

If our trade relationship is so economically important, why is ScoMo allowing the narrative to be framed as “Australia is leading” the push for an independent enquire knowing their disdain for public criticism? 🤦🏻‍♂️ ScottyfromMarketing Covid_19 COVID19Aus ChinasRetaliation

The WHO investigating China is like BIG TOBACCO being asked to review its own product safety and provide its own report...

Independent inquiry, run by WHO. Oxymoron if ever I saw one.

Oops

China are quickly discovering the world is angry and they’re not able to bully us all.

Really? The EU motion was going to happen with or without Australia. As one of 100 odds co-sponsors, Australia hardly led but paid heavily for a pointless spat with China. Have the courage to reflect and learn grown-up diplomacy.

Positive, it will need to be very thorough which will include looking into USA's labs, as well. Trump said he's backing the inquiry, he'll have to open up USA to investigators, same for China.

The picture of a coward!

China is giving WHO 2billion dollars over two yrs for medical research so China demanding WHO to take charge is like a rigged election

Think about this: WHO is leading the investigation, China is supporting this. What result can you expect? Australia is a loser this time, was imposed tariffs and beef import ban to get this.

WHO investigating China. This is a joke.

China embarrassed into endorsing an independent review but use trade sanctions as a response to its loss of face.
