The Makati Health Department (MHD) on Saturday night (May 16) said there are nearly 500 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the city, and the village with most cases is still Barangay Pembo with 38 patients.

Based on MHD data, Makati City has total of 493 confirmed cases, 53 deaths, and 180 recoveries, with two “probables,” 409 “suspects,” and 258 persons under monitoring , as of 10 p.m. of May 16.

Barangay Rizal has the next highest number of cases at 32, followed by Barangay East Rembo with 29. Barangay PP Northside is the only village in Makati that has no recorded case of COVID-19. The recovery rate of COVID-19 patients in Makati City remains significantly high. Barangay Poblacion remains the village with the most recoveries at 18.

MHD said if a resident is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, they must call the city government at 168 or 8942-6843. Meanwhile, Mayor Abigail Binay urged her constituents to continue practicing the “Otso-Otso” cleaning program of the city, where they disinfect their homes at 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
