UPDATE: Singapore reports 486 new COVID-19 cases, 504 fully recovered and discharged

The ministry also reported two deaths – one from COVID-19 complications, and the other – who was confirmed to have been infected after his demise – from a heart attack.

The lower number of cases is “partly” due to fewer tests being processed at a testing laboratory as it is recalibrating its apparatus for one of the test kits, it added. This comes a day after it announced that 33 cases from a laboratory were false positives due to an apparatus calibration issue for one of its test kits.

The three are among the 25 dorms that have been gazetted as isolation areas. Some 400,000 foreign workers live in dorms here in Singapore. Most of the hospitalised cases are improving while 22 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
