Sure, it’s great to have clear blue skies but for most of the world the pandemic spells famine and disease, not the planet fighting back

Cormorants are hunting fish in the now clear waters of Venice. Wild boars roam the avenues of Barcelona and wild goats the streets of Llandudno. Above Los Angeles are blue skies. From smogless Delhi, you can once more glimpse the Himalayas.

This is mostly backwards. The reason we have such runaway industrialization in the first place is because wealthy people have always been able to shunt its externalities onto poor people.

Wow, this is really bad. The argument is what exactly? That a base level of technology is beneficial to human health and therefor humans and their development aren’t deserving of blame for the plight of the environment? People are dying so don’t talk about the climate?

just, what?

“Nature” and “natural” are not equivalent. One is “out there,” not of human construction (social constructionists can debate that later). The other is a symbol, a human construct that is good/bad depending on conditions. Let’s be clear about our terms.

Guardian your news are kind of opinions and now you are publishing opinions too, stop it. The article was all over the place, time that is not coming back.

Provocative read that highlights need to address social justice as part of more joined up policy. Key missing link here is that we humans are an integral part of nature not some independent agent that manages it. nature

This is a perverse take. We are not separate from nature, we are nature.

After the reading the article, I can see where he's coming from, but what is going on is a message, not sent by nature, he's right. Rather sent by our current economic system and the way we seek constant growth and development. It has failed...

Yeah. Nature sucks! Solitary confinement is where it's at.

Did you actually block retweets for this?

What a load of bollocks

Brainless....

And look where that got us.

How can you say that!! So irresponsible when we are the ones killing nature! Nature is much better off without us. We need to fear it and respect it if we are to survive. Not try to curbe or manipulating it. How ignorant and deviant can you be?

Ha ha WHAT ?! How much are you getting paid for P ?

What an ignorant statement. Thankfully nature will be here long after humans... it does not need us..but we absolutely need it..
