VIENTIANE: Only four Covid-19 patients left in Loas Hospital as of Saturday morning (May 9). Six out of 10 covid-19 patients in hospital have tested negative for the virus in the first round testing in Laos, Laso Deputy Minister of Health Phouthone Meaungpak told a press conference on Friday evening.

The deputy minister said that all patients' health has improved significantly, and the six patients who tested negative will be permitted to return home on Saturday after a last-minute check-up.

All of the 10 infected cases are treated in the designated hospital -- Mittaphab Hospital in Laos capital Vientiane. Laos reported no new case of Covid-19 for 26 consecutive days, according to the National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.The nine recovered patients included six cases in Laos capital Vientiane and three cases in Luang Prabang province.Article type: free
