CVS warned of an impending surge in medical problems unrelated to coronavirus, as the pharmacy chain’s data suggest Americans are delaying routine health care during the pandemic

CVS Health Corp. executives warned Wednesday of an impending surge in medical problems unrelated to coronavirus, as the pharmacy chain’s data suggest Americans are delaying routine health care during the pandemic.

CVS, which owns insurance giant Aetna, says patients in April received fewer new prescriptions, as many have started fewer new treatments and seen doctors less frequently—a concern especially for patients who have chronic conditions such as diabetes and heart disease, which can lead to costly hospitalizations when...

We have to integrate this interesting fact into our thinking, too. How many lives saved?

yashar Elective surgery patients aren’t ready to come back either. And they provide revenue for hospital systems. Folks need to feel confident that infection control measures are being implemented. They need specifics.

I believe they also just beat estimates and bumped up their guidance. makes me believe them.

Laimestream media scaring everybody to death...literally

I had a heart monitor implanted in my chest a week before the virus got to my state. I can’t even get into the doctor to check it. Then the ER sent my dad away when his doctor thought he was having another heart attack. We’re both high risk but can’t do anything about it.

yashar Of course we fcking are.

yashar Because of concerns about delaying, some practices, here in CA at least, have started sending messages like this to patients.

Predictable

Can you blame them? There is a high risk of being infected simply to get checked out for a sprained ankle.

There is only a virus, there was always the virus, it is the sun, the moon, and the stars. All hail ruler Covid!

yashar 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

Who will dare go near a medical facility these days?

I seriously jammed my knee three weeks ago, hobbling since. For sure I am delaying.

No kidding? What gets me is that after the media and our government scared the living crap out of the public, the media is surprised at the horrible repercussions of the fear you sowed. I am forever amazed at the absurdity of our media. How can we ever trust you again?

MY GOD! FDA APPROVE THIS DRUG NOW! IT CAN SAVE LIVES! Diffusion Pharmaceutical(DFFN) has a drug treatment for Covid-19 patients & help keep them off ventilators. It increases blood oxygen levels. They are in talks w/FDA now for accelerated clinical trials!

Everyone is afraid to go to a hospital or clinic right now. We are accruing 2 less visible long term public health liabilities. 1. The people who survived Covid but with varying organ damage. 2. The people with worsening treatable but postponed health problems.

We won’t have to worry about getting sick they are gonna scare us all to death first

Well sure, Neighbor just died. He didn't go out at all except for visit to Dr. His wife got the virus too, she survived following a long hard battle on the ventilator.

This is a major problem. This is an example of how COVID19 will indirectly impact death rates, and decrease the health and wellbeing of many, particularly the elderly and at risk.

NO SHIT! Who wants to go to a hospital these days?
