In the U.K., this week is Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week, and, in honor of it, the Duchess of Cambridge surprised two new parents in a video call.

“Very nice to meet you. This is definitely a first. Well, firstly, huge congratulations. Is it a little boy or a little girl?” she said, adding, “He’s so sweet. Congratulations!” In the call, Catherine also spoke to midwives and maternity experts to learn more about their experiences. “Are you very aware of a difference, or a shift in a mother’s emotional and mental wellbeing in comparison to before the pandemic?” she asked.
