President Duterte wants DOJ to study legality of preventing Filipino healthcare workers from moving abroad. COVID19

MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday said he wants the Department of Justice to study the legality of preventing Filipino healthcare workers from migrating to other countries amid the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

“Ang problema, sabi ko we'll have to look into this again. It has to be this week. Maybe two days from now we'll have to meet again and consult legal, si Secretary Guevarra, whether or not it would be legal for us to just stop the migration of health workers simply because they are being taken in in a place where there is so much,” Duterte said during his televised speech aired Monday night.

Paghilom diha uy

Why not make our healthcare system more reliable? YOU DON’T KNOW HOW SHITTY IT IS SINCE YOU DON’T GO TO PUBLIC HOSPITALS AND HOW THE HCW ARE FARING THERE IN A NORMAL DAY. AND ONLY WHEN THE PANDEMIC HITS, YOU SUDDENLY RECOGNISE THIS? I CAN’T EVEN WITH THIS GOVERNMENT ANYMORE.

THE AUDACITY

Before DOJ makes a study, how can it be legal to prevent anyone in deciding to work abroad? You can encourage them to serve the country for a few years before working abroad. But you cannot dictate must less coerce them to choose their place of work!

concern kuno for the safety of health workers. as if mas safe sila dito by the way the government handles this pandemic. idiot na presidente.

President ayaw ana tay oy.

becauseyoustealfromthepublic

resultofcorruption whenpoliticianssteal corruption

gawing automatic lahat ng graduate ng medical course under govt. sahod, benepisyo nila under sa govt hindi yung naaalala nyo lang sila pag may pandemic

Kase puro chinese businesses inuna mo.

Hoy! Utak mo nasa talampakan !!

This admin have no honesty. The REAL truth is: many of our healthcare staff died because of no support from the Govt, which means we are in deep shit now since capacity is now overwhelm. The real covid cases in PH is really high and under-reported

Since govt don't want to increase it Frontliners benifits.... I don't think there's a legal basis... PARANG KAYO NO LEGAL BASIS ANG MGA GINAGAWA NYO.... ALL ILLEGAL....

FYI mr president. you cannot force someone to stay. it's every person's right to pursue whatever the person wants

This is our chance to demand! Demand for a betterment of Nursing Practice sa Pilipinas. PNAInc1922 leahpaquiz

Naks! May awa pang nalalaman.

You can’t prevent people from seeking better opportunities outside the country. It’s their choice. Maybe make it more rewarding for them to stay in the country. Most Pinoys won’t choose to be away from their families in foreign lands if they have good job opportunities here.

Allow Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Anesthesist. In short, revise the Nursing Law!

You can probably do that to graduates from Government Universities /colleges who didn’t pay tuition . Maybe a 6 year contract that they can’t leave.

Illegal in any sense. Or else you will find someday that no one want to study nursing anymore...

Kawawa daw HCW kasi baka mamatay sila sa ibang bansa? Remind me again how many of our healthcare workers died because of lack of PPE, how many HCWs are still volunteers until now w/ salaries that aren't enough to feed their families? Pakapalan nalang talaga ng mukha.

The past administration failed to pass the bill which is supposed to increase the basic pay for government nurses. Even former Senator Trillanes was dismayed with this decision back then.

You do note! charot but true😡😡😡

Sana may just compensation , iba dyan may utang na.

Tangina mo

They will stay if they are offered a competitive compensation package and that the government can ensure that the healthcare system of this country is good.

they’re risking their lives everyday kahit na maliit ang sahod nila. imbis na pigilan sila na umalis ng bansa, bakit hindi niyo na lang taasan ang sweldo nila at ang benefits nila? after all, kung wala sila edi walang gagamot sa mga sakit natin.

Don't look too far, treat medical workers with respect and dignity, or just match the benefits offered to them by other countries!

Tapatan nyo ung sahod abroad.

If he is trying to stop them from leaving the country to prevent death, then better let them leave kasi the Philippines has the 2nd highest death rate of medical workers.. no. 1 is indonesia!

That’s illegal. Akala ko ba lawyer to!

Gaguhan lng?

It’s time to upgrade our Health care system. Make sure you pay them well if you restrict them from going abroad. Otherwise, just let them be.

No need to study RRD_Davao ! All you have to do is increase salaries and benefits. Kung kaya naman pala ng budget na palamunin ang mga nasa slum areas na nagpaparami lang ng anak kahit di kaya, why not give it to health care professionals? Ex. Government doctors only get 75K/mo.

Tama sila. Buti pa pulis at sundalo, mataas. HCWs at teachers? Buti pa sila, may trabaho post Covid.

Di nman yan mag aalisan kng maayos psahod d2. .bat mu ppigilan.

We know the sentiments of the health workers in our country.

One thing to 'prevent' them from leaving is to offer them a better option and enable them to thrive. This is not only applicable to our doctors but to all OFWs.

Raise their compensations first. They are moving because of their need to provide. Ngayon lang nakikita ang importansya. 🤭😒

Wtf. Isnt forcing people to work for a company (or in a country) against their will is illegal? Seriously lawyer ba talaga si duterte?

Palusot pa with worries on health. You cant stop medical workers from working abroad. Eh ang puta magkano lang sahod dito.

Mr President do not attempt to legally stop the freedom of our health workers to choose the best employers so that you can save them from profiteers & slavery

bakit health care workers lang lahatin muna mr . president 🤣🤣

Preventing? You dont need to do that as long as GIVE them reasonable compensation, most reason filipinos go abroad bcoz of better salaries offered on those countries.. dito nakakabuhay ba ng pamilya salaries ng nurses o ibang healthcare personnels, a big NO..

Sa inyo na lang yung word na “lucky to die for philippines” instead Mas gusto ko ma provide needs ng family ko.

Yes !

Very good title.

Wow. Just wow.

study na naman? how about a study of whatever happened to the 275B emergency fund?

Surprise, surprise. To all the DDS out there: this dude doesn't care about you. Get that tattooed inside your head.

Dafuqqqqq

How can you prevent our healthcare workers from going overseas when they cannot earn enough in the country to give their families a decent life? In terms of compensation and workplace facilities and protection. How many have died due to lack of PPEs during this pandemic?

If they can provide a decent wage like what they are getting abroad, they won't leave. Give at least ₱100k per month to nurses, I'm sure they won't leave. That's just half of what they're getting abroad, but for the sake of family, they'll stay for that amount.

There’re no legal issues to be checked at, IMO. Pay healthcare workers properly. Pay all government and private employees accordingly. Bawasan sahod ng nasa direct branches of the gov’t and reallocate to lower income earners.

That’s illegal for it’s unconstitutional specially the country can’t give the compensation health workers can get abroad. Most of the got out of poverty and improved the lives of their entire family because they worked abroad. From Middle East, to Canada, US, Australia, Singapore
